Our Daily Schedule

These are sample schedules for StoreyTime Preschool and StoreyTime Too for Infants/Toddlers. They will be adjusted according to the class needs and make up.

StoreyTime Preschool

StoreyTime Learning Center’s school year runs from Labor Day until June 15th.

8-9 Early care

9  Drop off

9:15-9:30 Morning meeting

9:30-11 Independent learning time

Teachers set up the class prior to 9 am in order to promote learning activities and they follow the child’s lead to expand learning.  The teacher’s role during this time is to expand play and encourage age appropriate learning as outlined in the Maine State Early Learning Guidelines. Choices may include:

    • dramatic play
    • block (construction)
    • manipulatives
    • craft/art
    • literacy projects
    • small group work
    • books

10-10:40 snack will served in small groups as a center choice

11-11:10 clean up

11:10-11:30 Literacy

11:30-12 Outside Play and Parent Pickup

5:30 Closing time

Rest Time

It is required by the state of Maine that any child who is in care full day must have an opportunity to have  1 hour of unscheduled rest/quiet time.  Children are given a mat in their own area and asked to rest their bodies for 1 hour.  During this time a book is shared and they are allowed to do quiet activities on their mats.  Each child has their own blanket which is washed weekly at school.  Children are also welcome to bring in their own blanket or sleeping bags.

StoreyTime Too

StoreyTime Too is open 7:30-5:30 Monday thru Friday.

StoreyTime Too is closed the following holidays:

  • Christmas week
  • Week of 4th of July
  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Labor Day
  • Columbus Day,
  • Thanksgiving and the day after

Families are responsible for payment for holidays and vacation weeks.

Childrens’ schedules will be set by the child with the guidance of staff.  Each day the child will have the opportunity to do the following:

  • Floor play
  • Lunch
  • Crafts (age appropriate)
  • Rest
  • Snack
  • Outside Play

Rest time

Children under 18 months of age will have a crib to sleep in.  Children who are older will have a cot to rest on.  When children are taking more than one nap a day they will have rest in the nap room.  For all children who take one rest they will rest during a rest time and  will be allowed to sleep as much as needed.
